Girls Camp 2009

(Click on image to see larger)

Wow!! I'm so behind but here we go. I went to Girls Camp 2 weeks ago & it was great!! I'd say that it was the most peaceful & calm week of Girls Camp I've ever had. I'm glad my friend Jaime was able to be my assistant & I had tons of fun with her that week. Above are just a few photos that I took & some of the girls took. I didn't take that many because I ran out of memory & just didn't go though all the bad pictures. Anyway, it was a great week at Bountiful Land....The Happiest Camp on earth. I really enjoyed the "Royal Hour" classes I was able to attend & the 3 mile (er...5 mile) hike that we went on!! I feel like I've been able to carry some of the happiness back home with me & I'm trying out some new goals. I'm also trying really hard to keep up on my personal journaling in an actual journal. I love blogging but it's mostly about the family & funny things that happen. I don't really pour my heart & soul out on here. My journal is the place where I do that & sometimes here but I need to keep up on that too. I wish I would've blogged about camp right when I got back but oh well, I hope you get the picture. It was a great week.

Heigh ho, heigh ho it's off to Camp I go

So, I didn't want to leave with such a sad story being my last post. So I'm off to camp @ the crack of dawn tomorrow. It should be a blast with the Disney Princess theme. I ♥ Disney. I think I'm wearing a Disney shirt everyday. Fun times. I will be back with tons of pics I'm sure. I'll be back.............I'll have to take pics of my handouts up at camp cuz they are all packed away, I think they turned out pretty cute.

What a Day

So, I've been preparing for Girls Camp for the last week & going in full force today because we go up tomorrow. Something very bad happened this morning. I was looking in the hall closet for some supplies & I heard a dog growl by the front door. I was like, what the heck. I went & opened the front door ( I know, I should've looked 1st) & there were 2 dogs totally mawling our cat Cozmo!! I was so MAD!!! & freaked out but I went out there & started yelling at the dogs & they just wouldn't let up. Finally he got out of their grip & tried to get away & then they chased him in to the neighbors yard. Brad came out & was trying to figure out what I was screaming & yelling about. He didn't realize that the dogs were attacking Cozmo & I told him & he went after them. He got our cat & brought him in got his shoes on & immediately drove him to the vet. Our poor cat has a broken sternum & 5 broken ribs & is under observation because they didn't know if there was any internal bleeding. Oh, my poor Brad. Cozmo is his kitty & we've had him since before Blake was born. So this upsets me greatly because I only saw the colors of the dogs & I couldn't tell you the breed but Brad said they were pitbulls. I am not a fan of dogs ever but this breed should not exist. What if that was my 2 year old or even 6 year old. I let my kids play in the backyard & these dogs could easily have jumped the neighbors fence to get to our yard if they wanted to attack my children. Very scary. Well, later my mother-in-law came over & walked around the neighborhood with letters stating what happened & if anybody had any info on where these dogs may have come from to please let us know. We've received 2 phone calls & will be calling the Sheriff's Department tomorrow about the incident. Apparently these dogs get out on a regular basis. This is not safe because there are actually tons of kids around the neighborhood that sometimes play in front yards. I really hope that something good comes of this. I so hope that Cozmo makes it through. I don't care if people have dogs but they have to be responsible & we were told that these people are drug dealers too. Why do people have to be so irresponsible? If I had had a gun, I would've shot those 2 dogs without even a second thought!! Too bad I didn't. If that was one of my kids I probably would've been hurt as well because I just wanted to get my cat out of there & those dogs didn't even care that I was there. Crazy.....................................

Kindergarten Grad!!!

CoNgRaTuLaTiOnS!!!!!!
Congrats to my little boy(who's not so little anymore) for making it through Kindergarten!! We are so happy with your achievements & now you get to go to 1st grade!!!! Woohoo!!
Mrs. Blok & Mrs. Mugnani getting ready to hand out the awards. So I was a little irritated with
some of the obnoxious parents that were standing near me during these festivities. Seriously,
as an adult, do YOU know when it's appropriate to talk & not to talk. Come on people, shut up & stop trying to impress the people around you with your stupid remarks!!! Seriously...do you wonder why it's your kid that was the one messing around in the bathroom when he should've been in class. And, when your other child is causing a major disruption, do you think that you could have the common courtesy to step outside until you & your child can control themselves. Ok......now that I have that off my chest. I didn't get a pic of Blake going up to get his award because I thought I was recording & I wasn't. Stupid camera or stupid me. I did get pics of him after though. Too bad it wasn't super hot that day....they were supposed to do water games & stuff, but he said they had fun anyway.
Here's Blake with Mrs. Ward his fabulous teacher. She went out on maternity leave back in March so she didn't get to finish the year with them. She was great & I'm glad we met.
Here's Blake with Mrs. Mugnani....his substitute for the rest of the year. He's quite the little charmer & he loved her too. It's been a fun year for Blake & we're so excited for him to
be a 1st grader. I cannot believe that my 1st baby is going to be a 1st grader. Wasn't it just yesterday or a few weeks ago when I used to hold him on my shoulder & fall asleep with him on the couch until Brad got home from work? Now he's extremely independent & whiny & a pro at playing video games. Just gotta keep him on track so he doesn't forget what he learned during the summer. Good Job Blake!!
Celebration lunch @ BK!! Fun times!!

Trophy

Blake's Tball season has come to an end. I believe that Blake has made improvements from last year. He's hitting the ball when the coach pitches (which is kinda hard cuz the coach doesn't pitch all that perfectly). Anyway we all had a fun year & I can't believe it's over!! Time flies. Here's some pics from the pizza party. We all had a fun time & the year turned out great even though we had some weirdness in the beginning with one of the kids & the team mom who we haven't heard from in months. Weird.

Here's Blake with his Trophy & water bottle!! This year there was a boy on his team who is
autistic. It was great to watch this little boy have fun & learn about baseball. He was
actually pretty good at batting & I'd say his attention span was just like the other
kids on the team. Sorry, no pictures of him but it was tons of fun to watch
him excel with the other boys. (the water bottles were from his family)
Head shot of Blake cuz he walked away too fast for me to get the pic of his coach handing
him the trophy.

Here's all the trophys & other fun stuff they got.

Sonny Bear.
Sonny & Blake with cheesy faces....mmmmm....pizza!!
Now it's time to find a new sport for the summer until it's time for soccer. I really need to
get both boys in swimming lessons & maybe some Karate for Blake. Any tips
on places for swimming?

Close-sitters

Ok........so I'm out driving yesterday & I look over at the car next to me. Why oh why do people sit so freaking close to the steering wheel???? It just boggles my mind. I can't see that it would be comfy at all. These "close-sitters" seem so cramped & unrelaxed. I just don't get it. I'm a short person & sometimes I have to adjust my seat but there is ample room between me & the steering wheel. Do they think they will react any faster if something crazy happens? I don't like my legs being all squished up switching my foot back & forth between the gas & the brake pedal. Hmmmmm..........guess I'll never know.
