No more Sugarbugs!!!

I took Sonny to his final Dentist appointment to get his last star (for the time being) this last Thursday!! Yay!!! This was his 4th visit from December through January. It's been a journey but it's done. The last 3 visits have been super easy & quick but this last one was the quickest by far. We were in & out in less than 25 minutes. Although Sonny does cry the whole time he does not kick or try to swing his arms anymore. He does really well. He just really doesn't want to be there. I can't say enough nice things about the staff at Weideman Pediatric Dentistry!! They are the best!! After the appointment I took Sonny to play at the mall. What a nice morning to spend with my little boy all by himself. We walked around & got a treat & then he played in the play area for a long time. We had the best time. I'm so grateful that I got to spend some one on one time with Sonny (it seems like it's been forever). Just me & him. He is such a sweet boy.

Blake B's Spelling Test

Because I'm a proud mom...I just wanted to share. Each week Blake has a spelling test that he has to prepare for. On Fridays they take the spelling test & then on the back of the paper they have to choose a few words & put them in a sentence. He's been getting 100% on his spelling words & usually 97%-100% on the sentences. This week he got 100% on both. Woohoo!! Way to go Mr. Smarty Pants!!! Honestly he is doing really well in school & I worry a little that he's getting bored with it. My new thing now is for him to read 1 book per 30 minutes spent on the Playstation. He's read to me quite a bit since yesterday afternoon...lol. Don't worry...he doesn't get to play for more than 2 hours...I know...that's still a lot. Oh well :)
Spelling words.

Sentences.
1. I will not run home so fast.
2. He broke the big bone in his leg.
3. Mom woke up and I did also.

A Baby Shower & some Bibs

I went to my friend Tara's baby shower today & it was a lot of fun. I helped my friend Jaime with the invitations a couple weeks ago & helped her finalize the games to play (she was in charge of the games). Since Tara is from Canada & we always tease her...there was Canadian trivia. It was fun but I know nothing about Canada. Oh well. I probably don't know much about the U.S.A. either. I kept telling myself not to forget about the shower & that I really needed to pick out some material to make some bibs & possibly some other things. So....finally on Friday (the day before the shower) I went through my stash & decided on what to use. Tara is not a girly girl so I tried to pick fabric that wasn't "too girly". You know...like pepto bismol pink....lol!!! It didn't take me too long once I finally sat down to do it & I must say...I think I'm getting pretty good at them. Anyway....if I would not procrastinat I would've made some burp cloths too...sorry Tara....maybe later.
Here's me & Tara at the end of the shower.
Here's Jaime, Sarah & Me.
Good friends.

And finally the bibs. I really like the material that I picked out.
Thank you Grandmother Nadine for letting me go through your scrap material & taking some.

Happy New Year-2010

Can you believe that it's 2010?! Wow!! Where has the time gone? Since we celebrated with the kids earlier in the evening for Blake's Birthday...I thought it would be fun to continue on to the New Year. We had some friends & relatives over to play games & eat snacks all night long. Let's see....Bryan & Kimi, Jaime & Jerimiah, Tara & Chad, Dad & Dawn & some of the kids from the party. Blake & Benjamin played a Star Wars board game that he got for his Birthday & the adults played several different games while Blake & Kael watched movies with my Dad. My new favorite game to play is Bananagrams!! I love it because I ♥ word games. I know...I'm a dork but I just love it & anytime you come to my house & we get bored I will say..."do you wanna play Bananagrams?" & then we'll play. Try it...you'll see.
So here's some pictures I took with the new camera I got from Brad for Christmas. I'm learning that I prefer my old camera & just because the new one has more megapixels doesn't mean it takes better pictures. And it seems like something is always blurry!!! GRRRRRR.....And I can't take it back because I no longer have the box & I seriously thought I saved it....Oh well...maybe I can figure out what kind of pictures it will be good for. At least my dad & Alicia were able to help me figure out some stuff on it.

HaPpY 2010!!!!

Happy 7th Birthday Blake!!!

Another Birthday has come & gone for my oldest boy!!
I seriously cannot believe that he is 7!! Where has the time gone?! I remember him being a tiny baby & he's definitly not that tiny baby anymore!! Anyway....Blake was born on New Year's Eve & since his very 1st Birthday I've tried to make sure we actually celebrate on that day. So far so good. What a great day to have a party anyway...right?! We've done a pizza party every year so far. This year it was the same...he seems to enjoy it & has tons of fun so we will keep doing it until he asks for something different. I didn't intend to do a "Spongebob" theme but those are the decorations dad came home with so I just went with it. We played a game of "Stinging Jellyfish" or "Hot potato" as most people know it & "Pin the pants on Spongebob" & we even had a "Spongebob pinata". Those kids had so much fun!! One of these years we will plan his Birthday before the school break so he can actually invite his friends from school but we still had at least 10 kids. That's a lot!!! We ate 1st & then played games.

After all the games we went ahead & sang to Blake & had Ice Cream cake & then opened presents. It's always fun to watch kids faces light up as they are being sung to.
Cake & presents.

Blake got a lot of really cool stuff from his friends & family but we got him something super special this year. Brad & I decided that he is old enough for a Nintendo DS so that's what he got. He wanted it for Christmas so bad & was so HaPpY when he got it for his Birthday!!! He plays it all the time & is saving up to get a new game. Well we had lots of fun this year on Blake's Birthday & I think we learned a lot too.
Like maybe my husband should listen to me & not get frozen pizzas because it's cheaper & let me get the pizzas from Costco because it's cheap too & then we don't have to cook them while people are waiting.
Oh & I had my mother-in-laws house so clean too...not so much after but it was awesome!!!

Happy 7th Birthday Buddy!!!
We ♥ you very much!!!!

My Christmas Ornies

I found this idea to make these surper cute ornies here & if you've never heard of Modpodge Rocks...go there now!!! You will get so many fun ideas & I now have my very own small supply of mod podge. The possibilities are endless...it's finding the time & inspiration for me to do it.
Sorry I didn't post this sooner so you could make them too. Anyway...I thought it would be fun to make these ornies for my Niece & Nephews who live out of state...just like Blake decorated some for them too. I hope they finally got them & hope they liked them because I loved making them & plan to make them again next year. We also gave one to Blake's school teacher & Grandmother & Grammie Sisa. The awesome thing about these ornies is that they are available all year long & I can make them whenever & for whatever holiday I want. :)

All of the cousins.
Alice, Ronny, Jack, Lenny & Dennis
These were so fun to make & if you have a ton of scrapbook paper laying around it's the perfect project. Eventually I will make more stuff with Mod Podge.
