What a Busy Week!!

This last week Blake was out of school & we were talking this morning about all the stuff we did just in case his teacher asks what the students did on their vacation.  Wow!!  We actually did a lot of stuff & I was worried it was going to be rough with Blake home during the day.
Well.....here's a breakdown of what we did:
Monday:  in the later afternoon Uncle Bryan, Aunt Kimi & Libby came over so Libby could ride her bike.
Blake & Colby decided to ride scooters & Sonny actually rode his bike.  Well, we made it 1/2 way around the block before Sonny pooped out.  Oh well...got them out of the house to exercise a bit.
He was doing really well, pedaling & everything!!
I ended up having to carry the bike back because he was so DONE!!!
Tuesday:  Went to Maidu park & let the kids play & play.
Wednesday:  Brad was off so he made a picnic & we went to the park again.  Went to Maidu but it was way too crowded so we ended up at another park in Roseville.  It was really nice.  We may go there again.
Then I decided all of a sudden that we should go to the Library.  Yay, I finally got a Library card & we checked out a bunch of books & I got 1 for me to read too.  I also picked up pamphlets on happenings at the Library.  Then we went to Blake's Coach/player/parent meeting for little league at Round Table.  Mmmm.....
Thursday:  Went to the gym & the kids play in the kids room.  Went home & decided it would be fun to go to storytime back at the Library.  That was really fun & even went back in to get a few more books.  I will be taking Sonny back all the time now.  Then we just hung out around the house.
Friday:  Off to Chuck E. Cheese (Finally) with the Clawson's & our friend Tara who's due with her 1 baby sometime this week.  After that we went to Costco to get pizza & then back to my house to let all the kids play for a while.  That was fun!!  Then we went to Target really, really late with the kids.
Saturday:  Off to the gym again & this time 2 kids from Blake's class were there too.  He was way excited.  Then went home got ready & went to go buy Blake some new jeans & a present for a bridal shower later in the day.  Got ice cream cones from McDonald's & then I got ready for the Bridal shower for my soon to be sister-in-law.  Went to dinner & then took my changing table to my friend Tara since I don't need it anymore.
Sunday:  Went to Church
Oh...I read my 1st book & I'm on to the 2nd.  I'm so glad I finally got a new Libray card.
It's going to be my favorite place to go...even if I go my myself.

Did I say I was worried about not having anything to do?  I don't know why...it's not always like this...but maybe it is...I just don't write it down so I don't really notice.

Boys Being Boys

So this is what happens when the boys get my camera.  Kinda fun.

Blake got that punching balloon from his teacher at Church & I guess they needed to document their fun times with it.  Thank goodness for digital images that can be erased because Sonny likes to take pictures of me & they are always awful!!  Like crotch shots & always showing my fatty tummy.  I don't mind if they use the camera I just wish I had one specifically for them....but Blake lost his at the airport back in October so we'll just have to be super careful until I figure out if the camera I got for Christmas will be for me or them.
(p.s. trying out the new way to do posts & I'm wondering if it's really better)

Pre-♥ Day Fun

The day before ♥day was a busy one for us. We started off the morning by FINALLY getting Blake signed up for baseball. Then we went to the gym (something I am doing more regularly), the grocery store & finally home. Whew what a morning. Then after I took a shower & was making myself look normal again, Aunt Kimi called to say that she & Uncle Bryan were at the mall & that I should bring the boys over to see all the firemen, trucks & helicopters. So I picked up the pace & finished my beauty regimen & off we went. We met up with Aunt Kimi & Uncle Bryan & went around & looked at all the stuff. Blake & Sonny got to sit in the helicopter...that was cool & then after a while we went for a ride in one of the older firetrucks. That was really fun. There was a firefighter that climed up a ladder & then repelled back down. It was really high & they even had a smashed up car & demonstrated how they got the cars open with the "jaws of life" to get people out in a real situation. That was cool but also crazy to think about & I'm ever so grateful that I've only been in minor fender benders. Thank goodness!!
So here's our fun pictures from our "Fill the Boot" safety outing.
(click on images to see larger)
I ♥ all the fun faces that the boys make.
After our fun filled day it was the time of day to decide what's for dinner. Well, we weren't going to go out to do anything special for ♥day but Brad told us to get loaded up in the car. I never know what he's up to or where he's taking us (which drives me nuts) but off we went. We ended up at this place called Suzie B's downtown & it was good & fun. Thank goodness for gift cards. We all got a sweet treat after we ate & that was fun.
Blake with his chocolate covered ice cream cone.
And Sonny with his
(this family sitting behind Sonny had a little baby that was flirting with me the whole time.
He was a cutie but he's not in the picture).

Sonny with a chocolate covered face.
Here's Blake shoving the last bite in his mouth.
I can't believe he ate the whole thing. Funny how kids say they are totally full & then you give them an ice cream cone & they eat the whole entire thing! Kids!
Anyway...it was fun to go out as a family & not feel the pressures of Valentine's Day. I already have too much pressure for Brad's birthday & Father's day & our Anniversary & Christmas to worry about getting him something else he probably didn't want/need in the 1st place. It's always hard to shop for Brad. He ends up going out to buy stuff for himself anyway & then I feel a little cheated because if he would've just told me a few things he'd like I could get him something he really wanted. Oh well. What's a girl to do?
Oh & I bought fudge from the YW in our ward so I did get a little ♥day treat for myself & I didn't really share either....maybe that's why I'm a little soft around the edges. Hmmm....

Sonny's Dragon

Sonny is a WiNnEr!!!
Every month his dentist has a drawing to win a stuffed animal of some kind.
On his last visit I actually entered. I don't usually enter...I don't know why...just don't.
Then I got a phone call last Wednesday & they told me he won!!!
He won this awesome dragon!!!
And he ♥'s this thing.
He was very excited when we went to pick it up...he knew he was getting a "present" & not staying to get any work done. He was so cute when he 1st saw it. He took his picture with one of the girls from the office & everything. Did I mention that he ♥'s this dragon. He took him everywhere that day...even in to 7-11 when we got some drinks. He puts him to bed & covers him up too. It's very sweet...my boys are more blanket kids than stuffed animal lovers so this was funny to me that he ♥'s this dragon so much.
Cuddling up with "Dragon"...that's his name.
Isn't it awesome. He told me that his dragon is very colorful....it sure is!!

Just one more shot.
Sonny ♥'s this dragon & wanted to show it to Kylie (our babysitting friend) &
she is deathly scared of it!!! I've never seen anyone get so freaked out from a stuffed animal.
It was funny...had to be there. So I put him up so she wouldn't cry anymore.

Dance Dance Revolution

Both of the boys took a turn at
Dance Dance Revolution!!!
(no, I didn't put $ in they just did it on their own)
Enjoy!!

Super "Bowl"-ing Sunday

As many of you know...Brad is a HUGE football fan & that includes the "Superbowl" whether "his" team made it or not. He finally decided that we'd go as a family to this place called Strikes. It has a sportsbar/restaurant & bowling alley & video arcade. Yes...it is a Sunday...stop judging me!!! So off we went with his buddy Chris. The food was great...at least the salad I got & the kids had a lot of fun in the arcade. Me...not so much at 1st. It's still a lot of work to watch & monitor the kids while dad sits & watches the game with his friend. Anyway at halftime we decided it would be fun to actually bowl. Blake & Sonny had so much fun & Brad & I had fun helping Sonny throw the ball down the lane. Probably one of the longest games played but I couldn't help but smile with all of the excitement the boys had...especially Sonny. He cheered & did a little dance everytime & clapped for you even if you didn't hit any pins. I'm thinking that we will definitely have to do this again...maybe a little closer & cheaper (hopefully).
Sonny watching his very 1st ball go down the lane.
Watching.
Yay!!!!
Blake's turn.
Another try.
It cracks me up to watch Blake. There's always the big THUD & then the ball rolls.
Poor guy...he's left handed & it's kind of tough to
figure out the best way to get that ball down there. But he has a lot of fun while figuring it out.
Here they are waiting for their next turn...
(that's Chris, Brad's friend wondering why the heck he's here with these kids).
Sonny getting a drink.
Next stop...Dance Dance Revolution!!
Sonny loved getting up there & following the directions & then just dancing around. I've only played this game 2 times that I can remember but want to play it all the time but when there's nobody there to watch. I ♥ to dance but this game is a little intimidating.
The boys had a lot of fun playing games for what seemed like forever to me because I had to monitor their spending. Not like at Chucke E. Cheese's where I just hand them a few tokens & then send them on their way. Oh well...they got tons of tickets to turn in for prizes.
See!!!
Racing game...he also liked the motorcycle game too.
Turning in tickets.
Still going. I think they ended up with 500 tickets or so. They got their goodies & then we went to check on dad. The game was almost over. The Saints won & everybody was very excited!!! Time to go home & relax. I hope you all had fun too.

Blake's 1st Lost Tooth

My little boy is proving to not be so little anymore.
He told me he had a loose tooth a week or so ago & at 1st I didn't believe him. I know...some mom I am. I thought he might be feeling his finger moving back & forth & think it was his tooth. I then asked him if a lot of kids in his class were losing teeth & he said YES. Then I said let me feel it. Guess what...he was telling the TRUTH!!!
So the wiggling began.
At 1st he didn't want to chew or do anything that might hurt it & then he got over it. I kind of forgot about it. He went to a Birthday Party at Chuck E. Cheese's this past weekend & when I went back to pick him up the mom of the boy said...Blake lost his tooth!!! She wrapped it up in a napkin so it wouldn't get lost...again. I wasn't even there when he lost it. Oh well. I asked him if it came out when he was eating a soft piece of cake (cuz it seems like that always happens...something soft...not like an apple) & he said no...when he was chewing gum. He was so excited because now he gets his name on the tooth in his classroom. So the toothfairy has not visited yet because he just had to show it to his teacher 1st. He's so cute. Now I'm going to try & put together a tooth pillow or something so the Toothfairy knows just where to find his 1st lost tooth.
If you didn't know...
when Blake was 4 he had to have one of his molars pulled out due to some really bad tooth decay...so the Toothfairy has visited before but this is way more exciting according to Blake because this one fell out on it's own.
CoNgRaTuLaTiOnS Blake!!!

Be Mine ♥'s

With Valentine's Day approaching my friend Jaime & I thought it would be fun to have our boys who are in school make homemade cards for their classes. Valentine's day is on Sunday this year & I know Blake's class is having their class party on the Friday before because the week after they are out of school for a week so we needed to get going on these before we ran out of time & it wouldn't be fun anymore. I know that you can find really cheap cards at the stores but I think it's fun to make our own...especially since I have tons of paper supplies & Blake 's to be creative. And if I don't have to spend any money, even if it's only a couple of bucks...it really helps out. So this is what we came up with.
1. Hershey Kisses or your fave sweet treat
2. s with your message inside
(created by Jaime)
You could have the kids write it themselves depending on how old they are
& how much patience they will have.
3. Larger cutouts with fun scissors or just regular scissors
(Jaime & I cut these out. Glad we did cuz it took forever!!)
4. Give the kids whatever supplies you have to decorate & have them color the
plains with the message inside. When they are done they can cut them out
or you can to save time.
Also have them write From: .....
on the back of the larger 's.
5. Then glue everything together & WHA-LA!! You have a cute homemade Valentine Card!!
You can make these as fancy or as simple as you'd like. The hardest part was cutting
the 's out with the fancy scissors.
HaPpY VaLeNtInE's DaY (early)!!
