Spiders....ewwwww!!

So, Brad & I have cooked a couple of dinners together this last week. It's actually been kinda fun. I'm definitely a follow the recipe kind of cook & he's the adventurous cook, always adding things to make it to his standards. So, he usually doesn't like what I cook because it never has any flavor but at least I try. He's the one that does most of the dinner cooking & he's had me help him the past couple of times. So last night as I'm slicing mushrooms I keep seeing something to the left of me, the whole time just thinking it's a renegade hair of mine (because I have hair all over the place according to Brad). So the next time I look, I see legs, not just skinny legs, but the long dark black legs that belong to Black Widows!!! I screamed or yelled or something & jumped back & Brad came running into the kitchen cuz he thought I cut myself. I showed it to him & he jumped back too. You see, he's more afraid of spiders than I am. heehee. So, together we got rid of it. I got him the flyswatter & he killed it. Man, oh man. It was creepy. You see, spiders are not my most favorite but they don't scare me scare me unless they sneak up on me like this lovely Black Widow did. I'm usually the one killing them & I do get a little jumpy if they crawl down their web in front of my face or something. After it was dead I was a little jumpy & then I was so glad it was me that saw it because it could've caused some real damage to one of the kids or the cats. I haven't seen any more today & hopefully I won't. They tend to be outside when I see them. Whew!!! Hope this never happens to you!!

Valentine's Day Fun

Well, Sarah & I didn't go jogging on Saturday morning. Oh well, instead Brad & I made blueberry pancakes for our breakfast. They were so good!! I got Brad the new Snow Patrol cd & he got me an electric blanket. I know it might sound funny but I am so cold all the time & we've used it a lot. Then we decided that we would go & see the movie "Coraline" with the kids. I really liked it & Blake did well, except he has had some bad dreams & Sonny, well, he's not the best at the movies but he did finally fall asleep. Of course I was happy with my Giant Cherry Coke & Large popcorn. I know, I talk about losing weight & I totally fall down @ the movies. Oh well. After the movie we went to Ruby Tuesday for lunch (we had a gift card)! It was good & I have to say that this was the 1st time I've been there that I haven't just lost my mind. I don't know what it is but do you think they could've squeezed any more tables into a tinier space. What the heck. Not my favorite place to take the kids. Not very kid friendly & I hate their square & rectangle dishes. The food is good but I hate taking the kids there. Oh well, the hamburger was really good. After that we came home & spent the rest of the day together. I had a nice day & I'm glad we didn't go crazy trying to do stuff. Thanks to my husband, whom I l♥ve very much, we had a very nice day♥♥

Kids say the darndest Things

When I picked up Blake today his teacher said that 5 minutes before class he just burst out in tears. He said he was tired. His teacher said he did get put in time out during "center time" because he was being chatty. She didn't make a big deal about it, so no big deal. On the way home I asked Blake if he was tired & he said No. So I asked him why he started crying. He said it started with the other teacher & he was very MAD at her for putting him in time out & that 2 kids were just being really MEAN to him today. He said he wasn't being mean. Then he said "they were trying to not make him smart by sucking all of his brain power." Funny stuff. I asked him if he answers a lot of questions & he said, "sort of." That's my kid for ya. I love him, & all the crazy stuff he comes up with.

A Bike Ride at the Park- and a Flashback

One day last week Brad suggested that we take the kids to the park so they could ride their bikes. I thought it was a great idea. There's this park over by blake's school that has a parking lot that is always locked. I don't understand why it's locked & you can't park your car there, but it's a really great place to ride your bike. No cars!! I wonder. Anyway both boys had fun & Blake just needs a little more practice & we can try riding with no training wheels. I remember when my Dad took mine off. I thought it was so awesome, but I wasn't exactly smart about my 1st time with no support. I went to the top of the driveway & got myself ready to go. Here's the thing, the driveway wasn't that steep but there was a trailer & a car parked in the driveway so I had to maneuver in between the two while trying to stay upright. Crazy!! I know. So, I took off, gained way too much speed & turned left @ the sidewalk & crashed. I don't remember crying but I do remember trying to be brave & doing it again. Thank goodness once you learn you don't forget. This also brings to mind one time I ran into a parked car while trying to fly a kite. Man, I don't know what my problem was, oh wait, I remember the cute missionaries were coming for dinner & I was looking at them instead of watching where I was going. Still makes me laugh. Anyway, we're trying to teach Sonny to push his pedals. His bike is a little too big for him, but he sure did love it when I would push him while running behind. Life is fun. ♥
Faster Blake!!
Brad trying to encourage Sonny in his pedaling.
Look @ that happy Boy!
Sonny would get off & on over & over.
Never without his pacifier (it's almost time for it to go)
Wait for us..............................

Free Museum Day-Aerospace Museum

So Saturday was an interesting day to say the least. I will not go into many details because sometimes we just have those days with our loving husbands♥♥♥. Sarah & I did go 3 miles in the morning. We walked this time because something was wrong with Sarah's knee. I was ok with that. I think that our next long run won't be so intimidating to me. I'm only hoping to improve each & every time. After a long day we decided to take the kids to the AeroSpace museum. I didn't know if we would make it before closing but I'm glad we went because we had plenty of time to look around at all of the HUGE airplanes. It is so amazing that these things can get up in the air. Spectacular!!! Here's our pictures from our FREE day at the museum. If anyone knows of any ofther "FREE" stuff that happens in Sac, let's share so we can all take advantage.

Just thought this airplane was huge. I think it was a medical plane. Don't remember.

My 3 Boys.

Here's Blake coming out of one of the planes that transported troops.

Getting a feel for what it must be like for a fighter pilot!!

All in all, we had a nice day. The weather was decent. Sunny, windy & cool. I'm glad we went. I wish we would've gone downtown too, but there's always next year for the "FREE" day or we can go on our own dime. It's really neat to me to see all of this history that we have literally right in our backyard.

Halftime Show

We had a really fun time at our friends Sarah & Josh's for the Superbowl. We had a bring your own topping pizza party & all of the pizzas were so good. Thanks to William for coming & putting all of the pizzas together. Great Job. We were pretty stuffed in their house but I think a fun time was had by all. All of the pics I took are in a slideshow but I took a little video of Sonny & Maddison dancing during the halftime show. I think they were way more entertaining than the real halftime show. Kids are fun!!
