Happy 3rd Birthday Sonny!!

Happy Happy 3rd Birthday Sonny!!!!!!
We ♥ you so much & you bring great joy to our family.
You are my "little sunshine"!!!

This was this morning after Church in his new Birthday boy outfit.
Eventually we will take him to get official "Birthday" pictures but this will do for now.

This was yesterday (Saturday morning) the day of his Party.

I like to take pictures of the kids on their birthday morning in their jammies for some reason. I took this one yesterday because it was the day of his actual party. We did it on Saturday because it's really hard to do parties on Sunday's.
I have tons of pics from his party but need to make a slide show because there are way too many!!

Wednesday Craft Days

So my BFF Jaime & I get together on Wednesdays & do some sort of craft with her son (Kael)
Sonny & Colby. Eventually I will let Kylie join in but not quite yet. So this is the project from last Wednesday. We made bats & pumpkins. We had a lot of fun doing it. It's really fun to do Holiday crafts with the kids. I don't know who likes it more...us or the kids.
Colby's bat.
Kylie's bat....with a piggy (button nose).
Sonny's bat with a ton of eyes.
I think it kind of looks like an owl with a ton of eyes.
Kael's bat.
Kael's pumkin.
So....here's what you do:
1-trace each kids hand onto paper
2-cut out-you'll know if you'll be the one doing the cutting
3-draw a shape for the bat head & cut out
4-glue hands to the bat head to make wings
5-decorate (use whatever you have on hand) & let dry
6-display your Halloween creation
So easy & tons of fun to make.
Stay tuned for more of what we do on Wednesdays.

Bedroom Sign

Blake & Sonny Bedroom
Do you remember making signs for your bedroom door. I do...but I made them
on the computer with Print Shop when it 1st came out. That was a long time ago. Mine usually said "Keep Out" too. Blake asked me, "how do you spell Sonny? how do you spell bedroom?"
Well...here you go. I ♥ the little figures he drew for "Blake & Sonny" & the arrows pointing to them. I asked why he put the "e" above his name & he said...I ran out of rooom...room.

Experimenting with photos

While at the jog-a-thon Sonny was entertaining himself so I decided to catch him in the moment by using some tips about taking better pictures. It was fun & he didn't know I was taking pictures so he couldn't really hide from me. Anyway....here they are.

Basically I was trying to not "center" my subject so I could get more background in the picture. It doesn't matter what kind of camera you have...it's all about the photographer. At least that's what my dad tells me. By no means do I want to be "professional" but I sure would ♥ to take better looking pictures & figure out all the functions my camera has. I will be practicing more often.
This tree is so cool!!!

I wanted to get the whole shadow in this one.

So.....how'd I do?

Jog-a-thon!!!

Blake participated in his 1st Jog-a-thon at his school last week. He kept telling everybody that he was going to run 1,000 laps. Wow...what a go-getter.
Well, the morning of I could tell he was getting a little nervous. I told him everything would
be just fine, he just had to do his best even if that was only 2 laps. He kept telling me he wanted me to run with him & I said I couldn't because I would be watching Sonny. He does
this before all the races he's been in, so I knew he'd be ok.
Sonny & I went up to the school to cheer him on. My dad (Grandpa) & his dog Pippen came too. I really liked how the school did it. I was watching Blake & his 1st 2 laps around he just walked (you can see it in the 1st pic)...then I told my dad I'd better go let him know I'm here. So I started cheering for him & he got a HUGE smile on his face & finally started running. By the time he finished he had 27 laps!!! WOW!!! I was so proud of him. He just needed to know I was there cheering for him. He actually got quite a few generous sponsors so we are really excited about that. He will definitely get that T-shirt!!!

Way to go Blake!!!
And a big

THANK YOU
to everyone who helped him earn his $!!!

A Very Merry Unbirthday!!

Does anybody else cupcakes? I cupcakes.
Brad went to the store early one morning & came home with this giant cupcake!!
We (me, Sonny & Colby) were very excited.
I only made us wait til 10:30 before we dug in.
It was so good & had great frosting. The frosting is very important to me.
Usually I tear the bottom half off the cupcake & eat just the top with the frosting.
It's better that way. Less cake. I know...weird. That's me though.

Colby & Sonny with the giant cupcake.

Our annual day in S.F.

Usually on our around our anniversary Brad & I go to San Francisco. Something we've done since our 1st Anniversary. We did get married in Oakland & S.F. is pretty close. The
past couple of years we've taken the boys with us for a family day. This year we stayed in the shopping district instead of going to the Piers. I think one of these times I'd like to check out Golden Gate Park. I've lived in Sacramento pretty much my whole life & there are still so many things I've never done as a native Californian. (Sad...I know).
Waiting for the train (the Bart). We always take the BART from Richmond.
Sonny on the way home.
Blake on the way home.
The weather was sooo nice compared to what it was in Sac. So glad we went on this particular weekend. We stopped at the Skechers outlet in Richmond & I got some really cute shoes. (I'll have to take a pic & post later). They are probably the most comfy shoes I have. We just had a nice time looking at some super HIP clothing stores & only making a few purchases. On the way home we stopped at this family sports bar place & it was pretty decent for just going on a whim.

Note to self: when going to S.F. with the children...the Pier is better than the shopping district.
Hence the reason there are only 3 pictures from this trip as opposed to last year.
Oh well...it was still a nice day with the family.

Rock Friends

Here they are!!!
I kept telling the boys that we would make some pet rocks or something
& we finally did. Blake, Sonny & Colby had a blast making these guys.
Enjoy!!
Colby's creations.
Sonny's creation.

Blake's creations.
His fave is the one eyed purple people eater.
This guy is mine.
Just an example to show the kids what to do.
Here they are all together!!
This was fun & so easy to make.
Gather some medium sized rocks & then add whatever craft supplies you
have on hand
(or make a quick trip to your $ Tree)
to make their cute faces. You gotta have wiggly eyes too!!
I ♥ all of their punk rock hair styles.

Party! Party! Party!

A few weeks ago we had not 1, not 2 but 4 different parties to go to. No...we did not go to all 4 but I did make an appearance at all 4. Crazy I know. First off we had our soon to be new cousin Zakery's 4th Birthday. It was a "Pirate" Party & the kids were instructed to wear jeans & white shirts & then when we got to the party they got hats & red sashes. It really was a cute idea.

Here's the really cool cake.
Eating cake
(looks like they are wearing p.j.'s cuz all their white shirts are under shirts & are totally trashed)

A picture with Pirate decorations.

ZACKERY!!!

Later........
we went to Chuck E. Cheese's to celebrate Libby's Birthday & Uncle Bryan's.
It was fun & the kids always have a blast playing video games. They really
do have the best priced video games....25 cents per game. Can't beat that.

Libby & Uncle Bryan!!!
Posted by Picasa
After Chuck E. Cheese's Brad & I headed off to a town called Salida to go to a Wedding Open House for his friend Bryan that he works with. The Open House was at the Bride's (Stevilynn) parents house. Wow!! It was really, really nice. I didn't take my camera...dang. But Brad & I ended up having a really fun time & we've become even better friends with Bryan & Stevilynn. I'm so glad we all me.....P.S. Stevilynn is Mormon...small world.
The 4th party was actually a baby showere & it was before Zack's party so I just stopped by with a present. (the baby gifts post...the bibs).
Wow!!! What a day!!
